LTI Configuration (Grading Services)

PATH: System Administration > Learning Interoperability > Grading Services > LTI Configuration

LTI (Learning Tool Interoperability) connections allow districts to establish connections with other learning tool providers and integrate those tools with assignments. There are two types of LTI connections setup in the LTI Configuration area of the Grading Services tool:

LTI connections differ from OneRoster Grading Services connections. Grading services connections allow vendors to request section and roster data from Campus and send assignment, score, and grade data to Campus. LTI connections allow teachers to integrate learning tools with assignments. Students access these tools through Campus Student and scores are received into the Grade Book where available.

Configure LTI connections to external learning tool vendors.

To access this tool, a district must have opted in to Campus Learning.

Step 1: LTI Configuration Data

The first step in configuring an LTI vendor is verify your district's URL. Step 2 involves configuring individual vendors.

From the Grading Services tab, click to configure LTI:

Click to perform the initial LTI configuration.

The district's Campus Base URL displays. Verify that this URL matches your district's public, production site.

Click Save to generate an identifier for the district in the Tool Consumer Instance GUID. The district's name displays in the Tool Consumer Instance Name. Upon clicking Save, a GUID is generated and the user is returned to the LTI configuration screen, which now includes a list of available vendors. Click the blue gear icon to return to this screen as needed.

Step 2: Configuring Vendors

Click on a vendor from the External Learning Tools list to view configuration options. Not all vendors are can receive scores.

Multiple configuration options are available for each vendor.
  1. To configure a vendor, districts must receive a Key and Secret from the vendor. These fields are only required for connections that include scores.
  2. Select which Schools should have this vendor enabled. Schools with active Campus Learning license are indicated.
  3. The Advanced Settings area includes multiple configuration sections. Data populates in these sections as applicable for the vendor. Users should not need to modify these values at this time.
  4. Click Save when finished and Back to return to the vendor list.
  5. Give teachers tool rights to External Learning Tools to grant access.
