PATH: Student Information > General > Summary
The Summary tab lists basic student information to provide a quick look at student data. This is a read-only tab that displays data entered in Census tools: Identities and Demographics, Address and Households.
For Infinite Campus State Edition users, an additional Student Contact information section appears.
The Summary tab displays in the following Student Information areas:
In the Campus.1917 Release Pack (April 2019), the Summary Tab was enhanced with a new look and feel, a modern layout and additional information. Basic functionality has not been changed, and access to the "classic" Summary tab remains for the time being.
Student Summary Tab
Full access to the Student Summary tab requires R rights to Student Information > General > Summary.
- R rights allow users to see the Student Summary tab, and generate the reports available from the Student Summary tab.
- W, A and D rights are not necessary.
Student Summary Tool Rights
This also assigns R rights to the following Summary sub-tool rights:
- Student Information > General > Summary > GUID (displays the person's Global Unique Identifier)
- Student Information > General > Print Picture (displays the student's picture)
- Student Information > General > State ID (displays the student's state-assigned identification number)
Users can also be assigned the Student Information > Allow Unfiltered Search tool right, which allows unlimited searching within schools/calendars/years allowed by assigned calendar rights. Without this right, users are only able to view information to which they have a connection (a teacher can only see courses and students related to his/her section roster, a case manager can only see his/her active students, etc.).
Summary Tab Information in Ad hoc Query Wizard
Because the Summary tab displays information that is entered on other areas (Census Demographics, Identities, etc.), Ad hoc fields are not available specifically for the Summary tab. However, the information can be found when creating ad hoc reports using the Census/Staff Data Type.
The Person Information area lists the student's person ID, name, nickname, race/ethnicity, gender, student number and state ID. The GUID (unique identifier) and the student's are also listed.

The Mailing Addresses area provides a view of the student's mailing address. The mailing address is established in Campus Census. These addresses associated with the household that are marked as mailing. Mailing addresses linked through a student's relationship may contain a Second Mailing label. This indicates that the student does not live at this address.

Active Address information is based on the End Date entered on the address. This end date is inclusive of the last day. For example, if the address is ended for a household as of September 19, that address is considered active until midnight on September 19. At 12:01am on September 20, the new address becomes the active address, prints on reports and displays on the Summary page.
The Household provides users with a view of the addresses associated with the student's household. The names of all household in which the student is a member appear. The people that have relationships with this student also appear in the Household box.
When a student resides in more than one household, information about the Primary household and Secondary household is listed.
Household Summary Information
Relationships to people outside of the household (aunt/uncle, daycare provider) appear in the Non-Household Relationship box.
For all relationships to a student to appear, there must be a Relationship Type and a Start Date added.
Non-Household Relationship Summary Information
Enrollment information displays on the Summary tab when viewing the household information. Enrollment information for the selected student and any other members of the student's household who are also students have an entry in the Enrollment (grade) column. This displays the most current primary enrollment information for those members (school of enrollment and grade level).
- Future enrollment information does not show until the start date of that enrollment.
- If a student has multiple enrollments in the current school year, only the last grade level completed (last enrollment with an end date in a past calendar) displays, regardless of the enrollment end date.
- If a student has enrollments with end dates and enrollments without end dates, the current grade level (from the most recent enrollment) displays.
- Ended non-household relationships set to a relationship of Self are not listed.
District Defined Elements
If a district has created custom elements for use on the summary tab, those elements display at the bottom of the screen.

Because student information is protected under FERPA, certain fields on the Summary tab are controlled by specific tool rights (i.e., Social Security number). In addition to tool rights, notifications appear in the Person Information area when the Summary data has been modified. This change alert displays the user who made the modification, the date of the modification and the time.
Generate Reports from the Summary Tab
The information that displays on the Summary Tab can be printed and given to parents/guardians or other personnel for a review of the data. Two options of the same report are available:

In addition, a mailing label and an envelope can also be printed.

Person Summary Report
The Person Summary Report includes information available in the Person Information, Household Information and Contact Information.
Click the Person Summary Report button. The report displays in PDF format.

Person Summary Report with Picture
The Person Summary Report with picture includes the same information as displayed in the Person Summary Report and also displays the student's school picture if it has been uploaded in the database. This print option is only available from the Student General Summary tab.
Click the Person Summary Report with Picture icon to generate the report.

Print Mailing Label
The Print Mailing Label creates a PDF containing the student's name and address in the same format as the Mailing Label Report. The student's name appears in the first label position. Mailing Label reports use 1" x 2-5/8' labels (Avery 5160). Address information is based on the use of the Mailing checkbox on the address and the guardian.
Click the Print Mailing Label icon, determine if the label should print in PDF or DOCX format, and click the Generate Report button.

The Print Envelope option generates a PDF containing the student's name and address for use with a #10 envelope (4 1/8 x 9 1/2). This print option does not include a return address. Address information is based on the use of the Mailing checkbox on the address and the guardian.
Click the Print Envelope icon. determine if the envelope should print in PDF or DOCX format, and click the Generate Report button.
